Music Tutor in Bentley, Doncaster

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Music Tutor (Guitar & Ukulele) to join Doncaster City council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 17 hours 30 minutes per week, Monday to Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Management Team in developing DMS provision in the areas of instrumental teaching, in individual/small group instrumental lessons, whole class provision and ensembles sessions

• Planning, developing, and delivering suitable, progressive lessons which are musical, inspiring, engaging and challenging and meet the needs of individual pupils.  Particularly where students are of mixed ability, providing pupils with differentiated practice strategies to extend work in lessons and encourage pupils to make music independently

• Assessing, monitoring and recording pupils’ progress, achievements, well-being and behaviour, ensuring quality outcomes for young people

• Keeping registers and undertaking administrative tasks to ensure he smooth running of activities and safety for students including, but not limited to, providing pupil data records and written reports to managers, schools and parents 

Essential Requirements

•  Grade 8 ABRSM or equivalent instrumental ability on at least one instrument

• Ability and desire to teach to the knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to each pupil using written schemes of learning

• Relevant experience of teaching group and individual instrumental /vocal lessons to a wide age range and ability range of young people

• Experience and the ability to organise the practical aspects of teaching including, but not limited to the planning of lessons

• Enhanced DBS
