Simmonsigns Ltd is a leading UK manufacturer of traffic safety solutions based in Telford, Shropshire. We are looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead our sales team, strengthen customer relationships and support the next phase of business growth.

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a senior commercial role for a dynamic and results-focused sales leader. The successful candidate will help shape and deliver sales strategy, coach and develop the team, manage key accounts, support tenders and contracts, and help turn customer and market insight into practical growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and deliver a sales strategy that supports growth, customer retention and market expansion.
  • Lead, coach and support the sales team, embedding a performance-led and customer-first culture.
  • Ensure strong sales disciplines across customer visits, quote follow-up, pipeline management, CRM usage and forecasting.
  • Manage and grow key business accounts, building long-term relationships and securing future opportunities.
  • Lead and support tendering activity, framework submissions, contract retention and KPI delivery.
  • Provide market intelligence that informs commercial strategy, customer experience and future product development.
  • Work closely with product development and operations teams to align sales activity with customer needs.
  • Represent Simmonsigns at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events and conferences.

About you

  • Proven experience leading national B2B sales teams, ideally in manufacturing, infrastructure, lighting, construction products, highways or public-realm markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a consistent track record of achieving sales growth.
  • Confident using CRM and forecasting tools to manage performance and support decision-making.
  • Experienced in key account management, negotiation and developing long-term customer partnerships.
  • An inspirational leader with the ability to coach, motivate and hold teams accountable.
  • Strategic, practical and results-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable travelling nationally and internationally when required.
