W Talent is working with an established engineering business located in Nottingham who are now looking to recruit a NDT Inspector to join its Test and Inspection team.
This is a great opportunity for a Level 2, NDT Inspector or Technician with a strong technical background, ideally gained within the aerospace or heavy engineering sectors, who is looking to join a quality-focused business where their skills and experience will be valued.
The Role
As an NDT Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out non-destructive testing and inspection activities to ensure products meet the required quality and customer standards. The role will involve working across a 3-shift pattern, including days and nights, so flexibility around shift working is essential. The preferred method is Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), although candidates with experience in other NDT methods will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out NDT inspections in line with relevant procedures, specifications and customer requirements.
- Complete Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) where required.
- Identify and report defects, non-conformances and quality issues.
- Ensure all inspection and testing is completed accurately and in line with required standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to support product quality and delivery.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety and compliance at all times.
- Support cross-training across other departments when required to help meet changing workloads.
- Complete any required onsite examination and practical assessment as part of the approval process under the guidance of the Level 3.
We are looking for an NDT professional who can demonstrate:
- Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing accreditation - essential.
- Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience - preferred.
- Previous experience within an aerospace or heavy engineering environment - highly desirable.
- Experience in other NDT methods will also be considered.
- A strong understanding of quality and safety requirements.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
- A flexible attitude and willingness to learn and cross-train in other areas when required.
- Willingness to complete onsite examinations and practical assessments where required for approval.
