Hays are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and community-focused housing organisation to recruit a Neighbourhood Housing Officer on an initial 2-month fixed term contract, with strong potential for extension through Hays.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional who thrives on building positive relationships, managing a diverse housing portfolio, and making a genuine difference within local communities across South Liverpool.
Your new role As a Neighbourhood Housing Officer, you will manage a designated housing patch and act as a key contact for residents, delivering a proactive and customer-focused housing management service. You will work closely with tenants, local partners, support agencies and internal teams to ensure neighbourhoods remain safe, sustainable and well-maintained.The role offers a great balance of flexibility, with approximately one day per week based in a modern Liverpool city centre office, alongside home working and regular visits across your neighbourhood patch.
Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of properties and tenancies across South Liverpool
  • Delivering tenancy management services including tenancy audits, starter tenancy reviews and home visits
  • Investigating and resolving tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood issues
  • Managing a caseload of tenancy sustainment and support cases
  • Working collaboratively with residents, community groups and partner agencies
  • Conducting estate inspections and identifying opportunities for neighbourhood improvements
  • Preparing and serving appropriate tenancy notices where required
  • Supporting vulnerable residents through early intervention and signposting services
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies
  • Driving resident engagement and helping to improve customer satisfaction levels

What Youll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within a housing management, neighbourhood officer, tenancy officer or housing officer role
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management best practice
  • Experience managing anti-social behaviour and tenancy breach cases
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst managing a busy and varied caseload
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, residents and external agencies
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous
