Neighbourhood Officer

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Rate: £29.50 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: Minimum 3 Months

Hours: Full-Time

We are currently seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to join a busy local authority housing service in Welwyn Garden City.

This is an exciting opportunity for a housing professional to deliver high-quality tenancy and neighbourhood management services, supporting residents and helping to maintain safe, sustainable communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an effective housing and tenancy management service across a designated patch.
• Manage tenancy issues, neighbourhood concerns and estate management matters.
• Investigate and resolve tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour cases.
• Conduct tenancy audits, sign-ups, home visits and estate inspections.
• Support vulnerable tenants and facilitate access to support services.
• Manage tenancy changes including successions and mutual exchanges.
• Respond to customer enquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and case management information.
• Work in partnership with residents, contractors and external agencies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in housing management, tenancy management or a related field.
• Good understanding of housing legislation and tenancy enforcement.
• Experience managing challenging and sensitive casework.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
• Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Competent IT and record-keeping skills.

Essential

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Access to a vehicle.
