Network Engineer

Hays are supporting a large public sector organisation in Gloucestershire to recruit a Voice-focused Network Engineer on a permanent basis. The role is paying up to £47kpa + on-call bonus and is hybrid, working typically 2 or 3 days per week on site. To be considered for this role, you'll need to be eligible for security clearance.

This role is primarily a Voice-focused Network Engineer position with broader networking responsibilities. The client is specifically looking for someone with strong voice telephony experience who can also support wider network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain voice and network infrastructure.
• Network configuration, installation and maintenance.
• Incident diagnosis and fault resolution.
• Network monitoring and performance reporting.
• Hardware/software installation and upgrades.
• Backup and recovery activities.
• Helpdesk and escalated support.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (approximately 1 week in 4).

Technical Requirements

• Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
• Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE)
• Microsoft Teams Voice
• SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
• Voice networking / telephony infrastructure
• Wider networking experience
• SolarWinds monitoring
• LAN/WAN networking knowledge
