Network Engineer – OSPF / MPLS / VPN
Location: West Midlands
Contract: Initial 4 - 6 months
Rate: £350–£500 per day
Matthew James Group are supporting a client with a major private 5G deployment within a large manufacturing environment and are looking for an experienced IP / Transport Engineer to support the integration of the new network into the existing enterprise IT and OT infrastructure.
Network Engineer
You will support and validate the IP and transport infrastructure around the private 5G deployment, including:
- Enterprise LAN and WAN integration
- IP addressing and VLAN validation
- VRF configuration and validation
- OSPF routing verification
- MPLS network integration
- WAN connectivity and transport resiliency
- Firewall policy validation
- IPSec VPN integration
- Network segmentation
- QoS alignment
- Throughput and latency testing
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting
- Routing, firewall and VPN fault finding
- End-to-end network validation
- Supporting performance, capacity and operational readiness activities
Network Engineer
You should have strong experience across:
- Enterprise LAN / WAN networking
- OSPF
- MPLS
- VLAN and VRF
- IPSec VPNs
- Firewall integration
- Layer 2 / Layer 3 troubleshooting
- Enterprise IT networking
Experience within OT, manufacturing or industrial networks would be highly advantageous.
Exposure to Cisco, Arista or HPE switching, private 5G environments or network integration within manufacturing would also be useful.
In return the Network Engineer will get the chance to work for an amazing company offering an initial 4-6 month contract with the possibility of further extension.
