Network Security Engineer (SOC)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Network Security Engineer to join a department to assist with protecting critical systems and ensuring the security of network infrastructure. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Playing a key role in safeguarding the organisations network infrastructure  
• Working with the SOC team on incident response and triage activity  
• Designing and implementing robust security solutions to protect against threats 
• Collaborating with cross functional teams, implementing changes securely  
• Identifying vulnerabilities and managing security incidents  
• Ensuring compliance with industry best practices  

The ideal candidate would have: 

• Understanding of cyber security capabilities  
• Existing knowledge of Darktrace Antigena and Respond  
• Strong ability to interpret complex information via use of packet capture  
• Proven ability to review SOC alerting  

The ideal candidate must have: 

• Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching and VLANs 
• Strong expertise in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls e.g. Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto 
• Hands on experience in next-gen firewalls and advancing security features 
• Experience in managing secure proxy solutions 
• Understanding of network architectures and security zones 
• In depth knowledge of security protocols  
• Proficient in monitoring technologies
