Night Goods-In Goods-Out Operative

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative and Forklift Driver (Counterbalance) on late shift to join an experienced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient materials handling, operating forklift trucks, and supporting warehouse management activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise forklift driving and warehouse experience in a controlled environment, ensuring smooth storage and delivery and receiving operations.

£14.45 Per Hour for standard 40-hours per week / Time and a Half Overtime.

4pm Start time / Finish when all orders have been picked and packed (this can mean finishing as late as 02:30am or 5am. Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse
• Assist with materials handling, including stacking, organising, and moving stock as required
• Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing orders for dispatch and receipt of deliveries
• Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Load and unload vehicles
• Assist with stock organisation, inventory counts, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
• Support warehouse team with general duties such as packing, labelling, and order picking.

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklift trucks (counterbalance) in a warehouse environment and a valid license
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems
• Knowledge of materials handling techniques
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Previous warehouse, yard, goods-in / goods-out experience.

This role requires a proactive approach, attention to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The ideal candidate will be organised, able to work in all weather conditions, with grease and dirt, capable of managing physical demands associated with heavy lifting and equipment operation. Taking a slow methodical approach to completing daily tasks and duties.
