Night Shift Supervisor in Colnbrook

We are working with a leading international organisation within the professional equipment and media production sector, who are looking for a confident and organised Night Shift Supervisor to join their busy Colnbrook operation.
This is a hands-on supervisory position, responsible for leading the night-shift team and ensuring equipment is accurately processed, tested, stored and prepared for the following day's operations.
The Role As Night Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the night-shift team, allocating workloads fairly and ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to the required standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and supporting the night-shift team
- Allocating work effectively across technicians and operational staff
- Leading by example and maintaining high standards of professionalism
- Ensuring appropriate staffing and training across departments
- Reviewing employee competency and identifying training and development opportunities
- Coordinating the picking, scanning, testing and quality checking of equipment
- Overseeing the storage and movement of equipment
- Coordinating the loading and unloading of vehicles
- Managing returned rental equipment
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and equipment shortages
- Supporting the resolution of system issues
- Maintaining accurate asset control
- Ensuring effective shift handovers to the incoming team
- Supporting management responsibilities when required
- Carrying out regular Health & Safety inspections
- Escalating operational or safety concerns appropriately
- Ensuring equipment is handled only by trained and authorised employees
- Supporting training documentation and competency processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve storage and stock-handling processes
- Maintaining clean, organised and safe working areas
- Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement across the night shift
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, equipment rental, distribution or operational environment
- Supervisory or team-lead experience
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to allocate and prioritise workloads
- Good attention to detail, particularly around stock and asset control
- Experience working with inventory or warehouse management systems
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
- Experience with inventory tracking systems such as RT Pro would be advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- The ability to identify and resolve operational issues
- A commitment to Health & Safety and maintaining high workplace standards
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- A willingness to undertake overtime and occasional weekend work when required
