Nightshift Vehicle Technician – Heathrow
- £47,379.40, increasing to £49,326.50 for candidates with Level 3 Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) qualifications.
- £49,326.50 – £51,922.64 for candidates with HGV experience (dependent on qualifications, experience and skill level).
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off | 6:00pm – 6:00am (Permanent Nights)
Location: Airside Workshop, Heathrow Airport
Please note: A minimum Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification is essential. Candidates must successfully obtain an Airside Pass before commencing employment.
Vehicle Technician The Role:
We're looking for skilled Vehicle Technicians to join our nightshift engineering team based at Heathrow Airport. Whether your background is in Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) or Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV), we'd like to hear from you.
Working within our airside workshop, you'll service, maintain and repair a fleet of specialist ground support vehicles and plant equipment, helping to ensure operations run safely, efficiently and reliably.
This is an excellent opportunity to use your existing vehicle maintenance skills in a unique airport environment, with salary progression available based on qualifications and experience.
Vehicle Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on vehicles and plant equipment.
- Diagnose faults accurately and identify repair requirements.
- Complete vehicle inspections, brake tests and smoke tests.
- Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and timesheets.
- Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor regarding repairs, parts and additional work.
- Ensure parts are correctly booked, labelled and documented.
- Report Vehicle Off Road (VOR) parts requirements promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Identify and report defective tools or equipment.
- Deliver work to the highest quality standards while meeting operational deadlines.
Vehicle Technician What We're Looking For Essential:
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience as a Vehicle Technician, ideally working on LCVs, HGVs or commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Vehicle Technician Desirable:
HGV qualification and experience.
HGV Class 3 licence.
Forklift licence.
Experience working within a busy workshop or operational environment.
