Empowering Learning is currently recruiting qualified and unqualified Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants to work with a number of welcoming nurseries in Matlock. We have a variety of full-time, part-time and day-to-day supply opportunities available, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
Whether you're an experienced practitioner looking for your next role or have previous childcare experience and are looking to return to the sector, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll be supporting children aged 0-5 years, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Assisting with daily routines, including meal times, toileting and personal care where required.
- Planning and setting up engaging activities alongside the nursery team.
- Observing children's progress and contributing to learning records (where applicable).
- Promoting children's wellbeing, independence and confidence.
- Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Working as part of a friendly and supportive nursery team.
Available Shift Patterns
We have a variety of shifts available, including:
- 8:00am - 6:00pm
- 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- 10:00am - 3:00pm

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous UK experience working within a nursery, early years setting or childcare environment.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (for qualified roles).
- Unqualified applicants must have relevant UK nursery or childcare experience.
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work.
