About the role
Protocol Education is seeking friendly and reliable Nursery Assistants to support nurseries and Early Years settings in and around St Albans. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to gain further experience in childcare.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist practitioners with daily nursery activities.
- Support children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Help children with routines such as meals, toileting and dressing.
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development.
- Help prepare activities and maintain an engaging learning environment.
- Support the nursery team with the day-to-day running of the setting.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.
The ideal candidate:
- Has a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Is patient, caring and approachable.
- Is reliable and punctual.
- Can work well as part of a team.
- Has previous childcare or nursery experience, although some Nursery Assistant roles may allow candidates to train and develop on the job.
Protocol Education specifically lists Nursery Assistants, Early Years Teaching Assistants and Nursery Nurses among the support roles it recruits for.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
