Job Summary -5 full days per week Monday to Friday 08:30-5:30pm or 4 full days Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

Level 3 Early Years Qualification needed, previous experience in a UK setting min 1 year

We are seeking a dedicated  Deputy Manager to be key person in the room and in case main manager is absent you will be train to act as deputy manager. This includes support the daily operations of our small childcare nursery, max capacity 30 children enrolled.

Ideal candidate will have a calm voice and passion for working with children and promoting a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to early childhood development while ensuring the smooth running of our nursery. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to uphold high standards of care, safety, and education.

Responsibilities

  • Key person
  • Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
  • Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Engage with children to promote their development, well-being, and learning through organised activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre updates.
  • Assist in planning and implementing educational activities that meet curriculum standards.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are rigorously followed at all times within the nursery environment. You will get all the training and support from main manager.
  • Contribute to the centre's organisational development by participating in meetings , small capacity nursery max 30 children enrolled. Full time a year 51 weeks per year with annual leave paid and bank holidays.

Experience

  • Proven experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team of early childhood practitioners.
  • Experience working directly with children, ideally within early years or childcare environments.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education standards.
  • Familiarity with nursery regulations, health & safety protocols, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Previous experience working with children with diverse needs is desirable.
