Humly is looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to join a welcoming Pre-Prep setting in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for an extension.

Set within a beautiful Edwardian converted house, the setting is just a short walk from Tunbridge Wells train station, making it easily accessible by public transport. The Pre-Prep provides a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 2–5 years, with a strong focus on learning through play, development and preparing children for their transition to school.

About the Setting

This is a vibrant, child-centred environment where children are encouraged to explore, develop their independence and build confidence. The setting offers a variety of engaging daily activities, including creative and messy play, educational games, Montessori-inspired activities, sensory experiences, imaginative play and outdoor learning. There is also a good-sized outdoor area where children can enjoy active play and exploration.

The team also provides a range of additional experiences and events, including dance and movement activities, trips into town, seasonal celebrations, school-readiness activities and opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning.

The Role

As Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in leading the team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Pre-Prep. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, education and safeguarding while creating a positive and supportive environment for both children and staff.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager ready to take the lead
  • Passionate about early years education and children's development
  • Confident in leading, supporting and motivating a team
  • Knowledgeable about the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage the demands of a busy setting
  • A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Committed to providing outstanding experiences for children aged 2–5

Why Join?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional to step into a leadership role within a well-regarded Pre-Prep setting in central Tunbridge Wells.

You'll be joining a team that places strong emphasis on nurturing relationships, children's wellbeing, school readiness and creating fun, engaging learning experiences. The setting has received consistently positive feedback from families, particularly around its caring staff, varied activities, outdoor space and focus on children's individual development.
