We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Manager to lead a thriving nursery in LS28. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader who is committed to providing outstanding care and education for children aged 0-5 years while driving quality, compliance and business success.

About the Role

As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the nursery. Working closely with the Directors, you will ensure the setting delivers a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.

You will lead and support a team of Early Years professionals, maintain outstanding standards of safeguarding and compliance, build strong partnerships with families, and ensure the nursery remains inspection-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursery to achieve the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding.
  • Deliver and oversee an engaging, inclusive and ambitious EYFS curriculum.
  • Manage, support and develop a team of practitioners through coaching, supervision and performance management.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or undertake the training to do so).
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, EYFS framework and nursery policies.
  • Maintain staffing ratios, operational procedures and health & safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Monitor occupancy levels, admissions, budgets and resources to support nursery growth and sustainability.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and prepare the setting for inspections.
What We're Looking For Essential

✔ Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification

✔ Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior leadership, supervisory or management role within an early years setting

✔ Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, child development and Ofsted requirements

✔ Proven experience leading and motivating teams

✔ Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills

✔ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

⭐ Level 5 Early Years Leadership & Management qualification

⭐ Nursery Manager experience

⭐ DSL, SENDCO or other specialist qualifications

⭐ Experience managing occupancy, budgets and business performance

⭐ Paediatric First Aid qualification
