Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and early childhood education to children in our nursery setting. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
- Supervise and support children's daily routines, including play, meal times, rest periods, and outdoor activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff or parents as appropriate.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Manage classroom resources efficiently, ensuring a clean and organised environment conducive to learning.
- Support the induction and mentoring of new staff or interns as required.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery policies and procedures in collaboration with management.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting is essential.
- A background in Montessori, Forest School or similar approaches is desirable
- Demonstrable management or leadership skills within a childcare environment are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children of various ages, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience in childcare or nursery management roles is advantageous.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities.
