Salary: £32000 per year + On Going Training

Contract: All year round

Hours: Monday to Friday

Age Group: Children aged 2 to 4 years

Experience Required: Previous experience working in an early years setting

Qualification Required: NVQ Level 2 or level 3 childcare qualification

Claires Court is looking for two Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join its Nursery team in Maidenhead, working with children aged 2 to 4 years.

Based at The Thicket, you will be joining an experienced team within a newer nursery setting surrounded by beautiful grounds alongside the Junior School. This is an all year round position, working Monday to Friday.

This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced early years professional who enjoys being hands on with children, creating engaging activities and helping each child develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days in nursery are quite the same. One minute you could be helping a child master something new, the next you might be knee deep in paints, building blocks or imaginative play.

Your role will include:

  • Creating fun, stimulating and age appropriate play and learning activities
  • Supporting children’s learning and development through play
  • Supervising children and ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
  • Supporting children with meals, snacks, drinks and personal care when needed
  • Observing children’s development and helping to maintain accurate progress records
  • Preparing activities and creating an engaging nursery environment
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Working closely with colleagues across the Nursery and Extended Day Care provision
  • Contributing to staff meetings, planning and nursery activities
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, hygiene and care

You will also play an important part in creating the warm, nurturing environment children need to feel secure, confident and ready to explore.

About You

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands just how important those early years are.

To be considered, you will need:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification
  • Previous experience working within an early years setting
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • A good standard of English and numeracy
  • The ability to create a happy, safe and stimulating play environment
  • Strong communication skills when working with children, parents and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills
  • A positive, professional and dependable approach
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

You should also be comfortable using a tablet or EYFS software to record children's observations and development.
