Nursery Practitioner

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming and highly regarded nursery in Jesmond!

Working pattern:

• 3 days: 8:00am – 6:00pm
• 1 day: 8:00am – 5:30pm

About the role:

As an Early Years Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in shaping children’s early learning experiences. You’ll be supporting children under five through engaging, play-based learning, helping them grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.

You’ll be working across different age groups within the nursery, collaborating with a friendly and experienced team, and contributing to a rich, stimulating environment where children can thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

• Planning and delivering fun, engaging activities that support the EYFS framework
• Supporting children’s learning through play, both indoors and outdoors
• Observing and tracking children’s development using nursery systems
• Building strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
• Working closely with colleagues and external professionals to support individual needs
• Creating inspiring learning environments and displays
• Supporting daily routines and helping to maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing setting
• Taking part in team meetings, training, and nursery events
• Upholding safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality at all times

What we’re looking for:

• A Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
• A genuine passion for working with young children
• A positive, caring, and team-focused attitude
• Strong communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to providing high-quality care and education
