We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated Room Leader to join our nursery team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Years professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and has the leadership skills to support and inspire a team.
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and development for all children while leading and supporting practitioners within your team.
About the Role
You will create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. Working in partnership with parents, carers, and colleagues, you will ensure that every child receives the highest quality early years education and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery room.
- Deliver outstanding care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging activities that support children's learning and development.
- Monitor, observe, and assess children's progress and maintain accurate records.
- Support, mentor, and supervise nursery practitioners within the room.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are always followed.
- Work closely with nursery management to maintain high standards across the setting.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent recognised childcare qualification).
- Proven experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Previous experience as a Room Leader or significant experience working as a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate, support, and develop team members.
- A genuine passion for early years education and childcare.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding training.
- Experience supporting staff development and conducting observations.
- Knowledge of planning and assessment procedures within the EYFS framework.
