Are you an experienced Nursing Home Manager or Deputy Manager looking for your next leadership opportunity?
We are recruiting for an experienced Nursing Home Manager to lead a well-established, highly regarded nursing home in the Scottish Borders.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive care provider where you will have the opportunity to focus on clinical leadership, quality of care and team development, supported by a dedicated Support Manager who oversees enquiries, occupancy and the environmental aspects of the home.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the overall clinical leadership and management of the home, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

About the Role
As Nursing Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the clinical leadership and management of the nursing home, ensuring consistently high standards of care, compliance and resident wellbeing.
You will lead, inspire and develop the nursing and care teams, oversee clinical governance, promote continuous quality improvement and ensure the home meets all relevant Care Inspectorate and regulatory requirements.
Working alongside the dedicated Support Manager, you will be able to focus your expertise on clinical quality, staff development and positive outcomes for residents, whilst building strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall clinical leadership and management of the nursing home
- Ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and regulatory requirements
- Leading, developing and motivating nursing and care teams
- Delivering high-quality, safe and person-centred care
- Promoting resident dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing
- Overseeing clinical governance and quality assurance
- Monitoring and driving continuous improvement across the home
- Supporting recruitment, development and retention of high-quality colleagues
- Building strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals
- Working collaboratively with the Support Manager and wider senior management team
- Ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are consistently followed
- Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and maintaining high standards of resident safety
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Nursing Home Manager, or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to take the next step into their first Home Manager position.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience managing a care or nursing home
- Nurse qualification (RGN, RMN or RNLD) preferred
- Alternatively, demonstrable experience managing a nursing home with responsibility for nursing staff
- A recognised care management qualification such as SVQ Level 5, RMA or Diploma Level 5
- Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent clinical leadership and people management skills
- A proven ability to develop, motivate and retain care and nursing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care
- Strong organisational, administrative and leadership skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence
