Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Nutritionist to join their education contract, supporting 58 primary schools across Ealing.
Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual at an early stage of their nutrition career to deliver engaging, practical education on healthy eating to children, parents and teachers. The role focuses on promoting positive behaviours around food, supporting wellbeing, and encouraging the uptake of free school meals across a large primary school network.
You will play a key role in driving nutrition initiatives across multiple sites, combining hands-on engagement during service with structured training, reporting and compliance support. Working closely with operational teams, you will contribute to continuous improvement in nutrition standards, allergen management and overall service quality.
Job Description
The role requires an individual who can combine sound nutritional knowledge with confident and engaging communication. You will be actively involved in school environments, delivering educational sessions, supporting lunch service interaction, and contributing to reporting, auditing and compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging nutrition education sessions to primary school children, parents and teachers
- Promote and encourage uptake of free school meals across all schools within the contract
- Interact with pupils during lunch periods to support healthy eating habits
- Produce termly reports outlining nutrition activities, outcomes and impact
- Support allergen management processes and develop training materials for site teams
- Contribute to audits relating to nutrition, allergen compliance and food standards
- Assist with the development of special diet menus during school holiday periods
- Assess menus for compliance against School Food Standards and support continuous improvement of training programmes
Person Specification
- Degree in Nutrition (or equivalent qualification)
- Registered Nutritionist or Dietitian (ANutr, RNut or RD)
- Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and healthy eating guidance
- Understanding of special dietary requirements, allergen legislation and School Food Standards
- Confident presenter, able to engage effectively with children, parents and education staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites and responsibilities
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school locations
