Overview

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to represent one of the UK's largest Occupational Hygiene consultancies in their search for Occupational Hygienists to join their expanding team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-growth business in a pivotal role.

While the company's main base is in Manchester, this role is home-based, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work across the UK, with the potential for international assignments. The successful candidate will engage in contract work at client facilities, focusing on assessing and managing occupational hygiene risks.



Responsibilities

The Occupational Hygienist will play a critical role in delivering high-quality services and will be responsible for:

  • Conducting a variety of assessments, including Workplace Air Monitoring, Workplace Noise Assessments, and LEV Examination & Testing.
  • Attending client contracts, including inductions, site visits, and review meetings.
  • Maintaining compliance with an accredited Quality Management System.
  • Preparing detailed and technically accurate occupational hygiene reports.


Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A solid understanding of the Occupational Hygiene industry and practical consultancy experience.
  • BOHS or IOA qualifications in one or more of the Core World Modules (W501, W503, W505, W507, or P601 LEV Proficiency).
  • Experience in additional areas such as Hand Arm and Whole Body Vibration Assessments, COSHH Risk Assessments, Legionella Risk Assessments, EMF Assessments, or Environmental Noise (desirable but not essential).
  • A valid UK driving licence, as the role includes nationwide travel (a car allowance or company vehicle will be provided).


Day-to-Day Activities

The role's day-to-day duties will include:

  • Traveling to client sites to conduct thorough occupational hygiene assessments.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Producing comprehensive, high-quality reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Effectively managing workloads to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
