We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join a well-established freight forwarding business based in Solihull.

As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will manage ocean import shipments from start to finish, providing customers with a professional and reliable service throughout the entire process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing ocean import shipments from initial booking through to final delivery

• Acting as the main point of contact for customers

• Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and internal departments

• Monitoring vessel schedules and shipment progress

• Preparing and processing import documentation

• Completing import customs clearance instructions

• Arranging collections, deliveries and onward transportation

• Managing bills of lading and shipping documents

• Providing customers with regular shipment updates

• Resolving operational issues and shipment delays

• Producing quotations and checking supplier costs

• Completing files through to invoicing

• Maintaining accurate records within the freight management system

• Delivering a high level of customer service throughout the shipment process

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous ocean freight import experience

• Experience managing shipments from start to finish

• Strong knowledge of import documentation and shipping procedures

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• The ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• The ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines

• Confidence working independently and as part of a close-knit team

• Previous freight forwarding experience
