Ocean Export Operations Coordinator

Location: Solihull
Working pattern: Mon - Fri - 8:35am - 17:15pm Fully onsite
Salary: Up to £35,000

We're working with an established freight forwarding business in Solihull that is looking to appoint an experienced Ocean Export Operations professional to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the fast-paced nature of international freight and enjoys coordinating shipments, working with overseas partners and ensuring exports move smoothly from booking through to departure.

The Role

As an Ocean Export Operations Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing export shipments from initial booking through to vessel departure, ensuring customers receive a high level of service throughout the process.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing ocean export shipments from booking through to departure
• Coordinating bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, overseas offices and other suppliers
• Preparing and checking export documentation
• Monitoring cut-off dates, vessel schedules and shipment milestones
• Coordinating collections and deliveries with transport providers
• Ensuring shipping instructions are submitted accurately and on time
• Providing customers with regular updates on their shipments
• Handling operational queries and resolving issues efficiently
• Processing and checking supplier and freight invoices
• Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
• Ensuring shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures and relevant regulations

About You

We're looking for an experienced freight forwarding professional with a strong understanding of ocean export operations and the confidence to manage shipments from start to finish.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience within ocean export operations
• Experience working within freight forwarding or international logistics
• Good knowledge of the ocean export process
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
