Ocean Import Operations

Location: Solihull, Birmingham
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Working pattern: Hybrid, two days working from home
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join a friendly and supportive freight forwarding team in Solihull.

• Salary up to £35,000, depending on experience

• Managing ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery

• Handling FCL and LCL consignments

• Liaising with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents and hauliers

• Preparing and checking import documentation

• Arranging customs clearance and deliveries

• Providing customers with regular shipment updates

• Producing quotations and managing costs

• Resolving delays and operational issues

• Maintaining accurate records on the freight management system

• Previous ocean import experience within freight forwarding

• Good understanding of the end-to-end import process

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Confident managing multiple shipments and deadlines

• Organised, accurate and comfortable working independently

• Customs knowledge would be beneficial
