We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established import/export shipping business in Lincoln for an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity. This role offers full training, exposure to all areas of the operation, and a clearly defined pathway into management.
You'll initially join the business as an Office Administrator, completing a comprehensive 12-week training period paid at £13.00 per hour. Upon successful completion of training and probation, you will progress into the Office Supervisor position.
The company is committed to developing the right individual and is seeking someone with the drive, capability, and ambition to progress into an Office Manager role within approximately 12 months.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work closely with both office and workshop teams, supporting daily operations, managing stock records, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate data using SAP and Excel.
The Role
As Office Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of office operations while supporting wider business activities across administration, stock control, customer service, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing emails and day-to-day administrative tasks
- Providing support with HR administration where required
- Preparing reports and sales data for Head Office
- Supporting workshop operations and ensuring smooth communication
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Using SAP to manage operational and administrative processes
- Maintaining and updating Excel spreadsheets and reports
- Raising invoices, purchase orders, quotations and job records
- Processing daily and month-end invoicing
- Monitoring stock movements and maintaining accurate records
- Booking goods in and out of storage
- Checking storage capacity and supporting inventory management
- Conducting stock checks and assisting with stock takes
Working Environment
You'll become part of a small, friendly, and supportive team where collaboration and communication are highly valued. Based within a comfortable office environment, you'll work closely with workshop colleagues and gain valuable insight into the wider operation.

What We're Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within an office administration, coordination, supervisory, or management position
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using business systems
- SAP experience, or the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- The confidence to liaise with customers, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels
- A genuine desire to learn, develop, and progress into a management role
- Experience within an import/export, logistics, shipping, warehousing, or manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
