Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of an established children's residential care provider for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager. You will lead a high-quality children's residential service in the Greenwich area, ensuring vulnerable young people receive outstanding, person-centred care. This is an exceptional opportunity for an established manager with a strong track record of regulatory compliance to shape, develop, and lead a premier care service.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will hold overall legal and operational responsibility for the smooth running of the home. You will ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, care quality, and regulatory compliance are maintained at all times. You will lead, inspire, and develop your staff team while creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that enables young people to thrive.

Key responsibilities:

  • Holding legal responsibility for the home's daily operations and managing the service budget.
  • Achieving and maintaining a minimum "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted rating.
  • Leading, supervising, and developing a highly effective residential care team.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Managing referrals, placements, and care planning to ensure placement stability.
  • Collaborating with local authorities, social workers, and multi-agency professionals in Greenwich and the wider London area.
  • Managing the management on-call rota and handling service escalations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previously successful in obtaining registration with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
  • Proven track record of managing a children's residential home with positive inspection outcomes.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory position within children's residential care.
  • Deep knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding protocols, and care standards.
  • Strong leadership, financial management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (highly desirable).

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexibility required to meet the operational needs and emergencies of the home.
  • Participation in the senior management on-call escalation rota.
