Operational Procurement Manager in Stevenage, Hertfordshire

We're recruiting for an experienced Operational Procurement Manager to join a major UK infrastructure organisation on an interim basis. You'll lead operational procurement activities, drive compliance with supplier frameworks, improve purchasing performance, and help establish a centralised buying desk model across the business.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operational procurement activities.
• Drive cost avoidance and procurement best practice.
• Manage supplier performance and preferred supplier compliance.
• Develop and improve procurement processes and SOPs.
• Analyse procurement data to support decision-making.
• Support supplier on-boarding, invoice resolution, and governance controls.

Requirements:

• Proven operational procurement experience in a complex environment.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• Experience with procurement systems, reporting, and process improvement.
• MCIPS/CIPS or infrastructure/utilities experience would be advantageous.
