Job Title: Solar PV Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Location: Based in Weybridge, Surrey, working predominately across London and the Southeast

If you have your ticket, your tools and a year or two of solar under your belt, and you are ready to work on systems that actually get noticed, this is worth a proper look.

Why this role

This is a multi-award-winning renewable energy company based in Surrey, with a healthy order book and a growing solar PV division. It has built its reputation on 5-star customer reviews, working across high-end residential properties, schools, colleges, and commercial and industrial buildings.

You would join a team that takes real pride in the quality of its work, not just the volume of it. The order book is strong and growing, which means steady work, real overtime, and a genuine path to develop your skills rather than stand still.

What you'll do

You will install and maintain solar PV systems across residential, commercial and industrial sites, carrying out upgrades and improvements to a high standard of workmanship. Reactive repair work will be part of your week too, troubleshooting and resolving faults across solar PV systems and battery storage solutions.

Day to day, you will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on inverters, modules and electrical components, play an active role in site surveys and risk assessments, and keep your documentation, timesheets and service reports accurate and up to date. You will represent the business on site, so turning up on time and communicating clearly with customers and teammates matters as much as the technical work itself.

About you

You hold 18th Edition alongside 2391 or 2394/5 (or equivalent), plus solar PV or EESS qualifications, and you have at least a year's hands-on experience installing and maintaining solar PV systems. You are confident fault finding on inverters, panels and mounting systems, and you know your way around inspection and testing.

An ECS Gold card and full UK driving licence are needed, and SSSTS, IPAF or PASMA would all be useful additions. Beyond the qualifications, you are organised, presentable and easy to deal with, with a flexible, can-do attitude that fits a business built on customer trust.

Rewards & growth

Overtime is genuinely rewarding here: time and a half on evenings and Saturdays, double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays. You also get a company vehicle and fuel card, a mobile phone and PDA, full PPE and uniform, and a pension with 3% employer and 5% employee contribution. Holiday starts at 20 days plus Bank Holidays, rising by a day each year up to 25, and there is a death-in-service benefit and ongoing career development training built in.
