Operations Manager in Derbyshire

We're recruiting an Operations Manager for a nationwide structural inspection specialist. They inspect, investigate, test (including NDT), monitor and repair structures across the highways, rail, waterways and utilities sectors.
This is a senior role for a structures professional with an engineering background and experience of running a department. You'll oversee the whole operation, from the first enquiry through quoting and award to final delivery. You'll be the main contact for clients and lead the teams on site.
What you'll do
- Oversee the department and its inspection, investigation and testing projects, including programming, resourcing, access, plant and traffic management
- Carry out Principal, General and Special Inspections, plus testing and NDT work
- Review and sign off RAMS, permits and H&S files, and deliver inductions and toolbox talks
- Check and authorise structural reports, including SMIS, Agile Assets and BCI formats
- Train and mentor the team
- Grow the division through new client relationships, new services and better ways of working
What you'll need
A background as a structural or civil engineer Extensive structures experience across many types of structure Experience overseeing a department or operations team The technical knowledge to check, amend and authorise structural reports An open mind: you're keen on new ideas, new approaches and improving how things are done Good physical fitness. Full UK driving licence
