FTS Group has a Fantastic opportunity to be part of a nationally recognised catering supplies business based in Harlow, Essex. We are excited to be recruiting a Operations Manager for a full time, permanent position with fantastic benefits.
Job Details:
- Monday to Friday
- Hours vary dependant on business needs
- Generally based on 8 hours per day
- Salary: £54,366.00 per annum + 10% OTE
- Anuual Leave: 28 days per annum including bank holidays
- Location: Harlow, Essex
Key Responsibilities:
Finance
- Develop an annual site budget for submission to senior management.
- Ensure that warehouse and Transport operational costs are maintained within the agreed budget.
- Provide regular and ad hoc operational reports as requested.
Leadership
- Manage Recruitment, inductions, development and retention of staff to the required or agreed numbers and calibre.
- Continuously assess staff against indentified performance criteria and address any issues of performance in line with company policies.
- Ensure reporting and any subsequent training requirements are met and regularly reviewed.
- Ensure regular reviews with all colleagues including an Annual Review are completed in line with Bunzl policies.
- Creates an environment in which managers feel motivated to do their best work and empowered to make decisions relevant to their area of responsibility.
- Recognises and rewards high performance whilst dealing with poor performance in appropriate manner.
- Implement and Drive site engagement through local and business initiatives.
- Ensure attendance levels are managed in line with current Company standards.
- Ensure all disciplinary investigations are detailed, fair and consistent. Be able to carry out disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings up to and including dismissal.
Operational Efficiencies
- Manage resources across the branch to optimise business results.
- Monitor the effective implementation of any policy or process changes.
- Manage branch performance in line with the business KPI’s and targets.
- Identify, propose, and deliver continuous improvement plans across all operational activities.
Customer Service
- Ensure customer service levels are met against company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.
Health and Safety
- Constantly manage colleague health and safety through regular, scheduled and noted welfare meetings.
- Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and Bunzl SHEQ and transport policy.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant HR, Security, SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Ensure all accident and near misses are reported in line with company policy.
Essential Skills:
- High-level management experience within a transport and warehousing environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to transportation and warehousing.
- High-level budgeting/financial planning experience within a transport and warehousing environment.
