Operations Manager
The Precision Manufacturing Division is a strategically important area within the Hydrasun Group. The Operations Manager will support the Divisional Manager in leading and managing the division, with key responsibilities to:
- Deliver the highest standards of safety, quality and service in line with company policies and divisional objectives.
- Ensure all KPIs, including sales, margin and cost targets, are consistently met.
- Develop, implement and maintain precision manufacturing capabilities in alignment with the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
- Deputise for the Divisional Manager as required.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Actively promote HSEQ standards and ensure full compliance.
- Demonstrate and champion Hydrasun’s core values at all times.
- Contribute to the development of strategies for the division’s continued profitable growth.
- Foster a positive culture both at Aviemore and across the Hydrasun Group to support business growth and achievement of company goals.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues locally and organisation-wide to share best practises and promote “best in class” working methods.
- Deputise for the Divisional Manager as required to maintain leadership continuity and standards.
Operations
- Provide leadership and clear direction to direct reports, ensuring divisional goals are achieved.
- Ensure adherence to company HSE, Quality and HR management systems in all operational activities.
- Lead and participate in strategy reviews, operational audits, budgeting, and inventory management.
- Guarantee products and services are delivered through capable, clearly defined and consistently controlled processes, compliant with company Quality Procedures and customer specifications.
- Regularly review division processes to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, taking appropriate action.
- Provide comprehensive reports to the Divisional Manager on divisional performance, including relevant external benchmarks.
- Plan future resource requirements in detail, including recruitment and training, to meet business needs.
- Support growth in sales of Aviemore-manufactured products.
- Ensure work is scheduled to meet customer demand, with delivery dates communicated clearly and adhered to.
Team Management
- Manage overall competency and personal development of employees within your remit.
- Oversee day-to-day management of assigned personnel, including performance reviews, objective setting, training and development, performance management, and handling of discipline and grievance matters in accordance with HR policies and procedures.
- Promote a collaborative team environment and foster a culture aligned with the Company’s Core Values.
Qualifications – Essential
Degree-level education in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering) or equivalent vocational experience.
Qualifications – Desirable
Formal leadership and/or management qualification.
Experience
- Extensive management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of strong achievement.
- Senior management experience with P&L responsibility or understanding.
- Demonstrable focus on both internal and external customer needs.
- Excellent leadership qualities to ensure the delivery of divisional objectives.
- Ability to promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams and build effective relationships with colleagues, strategic suppliers and customers.
- Good understanding of operational and project management, including defining, implementing and executing improvement strategies and initiatives.
