Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in the UK automatic door, entrance systems, or relevant engineering sector? If so, a thriving company is looking for a experienced Operations manager oversee a nationwide service and installation operation, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and business performance.
In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing field-based engineering teams and the service that they deliver as well as project coordination, and operational support functions across the UK. You will drive continuous improvement, optimise engineer efficiency and ensure all work is delivered safely, on time, and in line with industry regulations and quality standards.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth while improving productivity, profitability, and service performance. You will monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience within the automatic door or entrance systems sector, or any relevant engineering sector, combined with excellent leadership, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering operational excellence. As an Operations Manager, your salary and benefits will include:
- Salary: £80,000 per annum

You will report to the Operations Director and take full responsibility for managing the UK service division, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and commercial performance.
Your responsibilities as an Operations Manager will include:
- Lead and develop a nationwide team of Service Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, and Service Coordinators.
- Drive service performance against KPIs including response times, first-time fix rates, engineer utilisation, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Oversee the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive service, repairs, and breakdown support across the UK.
- Ensure compliance with BS EN 16005, Health & Safety legislation, and company quality standards.
- Manage service contracts, renewals, and customer retention strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and facilities management companies.
- Work closely with the sales team to identify service growth opportunities, modernisation projects, and upgrades.
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and cost control to maximise profitability.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop service personnel while promoting a high-performance culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices across service operations.
- Monitor engineer training, competency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve escalated customer issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure effective resource planning and nationwide engineer scheduling.
To be considered for this Operations Manager opportunity, you must have:
- Proven experience managing a UK service operation, ideally within the automatic doors, entrance systems, industrial doors, roller shutters, access control, or a related industry. However, if you've worked within another engineering service sector, your experience could also be a great fit.
- Strong leadership experience managing field service teams across multiple locations.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and service profitability.
- Sound understanding of planned maintenance contracts and reactive service operations.
- Knowledge of BS EN 16005 and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
