Operations Manager - Water

Our client is an established SME infrastructure business that acts as a tier 2 contractor to major contracting businesses within the water and gas sector.

Due to expansion in workload, our client is now looking to recruit an Operations Manager to oversee their field based teams in delivering projects within budget and on time. 

Key duties will include:

• Own end-to-end service delivery of operational projects
• Ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within agreed commercial scope.
• Provide clear accountability for mobilisation, execution and close-out.
• Maintain consistent delivery standards across regions and work types.
• Act as senior operational escalation points for delivery or customer issues.
• Oversee effective deployment of technicians, supervisors, plant and specialist equipment.
• Improve utilisation, productivity and forward visibility of workload.
• Ensure effective handover from bid / commercial award into delivery.
• Chair or lead internal programme and delivery review meetings.
• Monitor progress, risks, variations and recovery actions.
• Ensure operational teams understand commercial scope and boundaries.
• Ensure compliance with Gas and water industry standards, including client procedures and framework requirements
• Promote a strong safety culture and visible leadership.
• Ensure competence, training and authorisations are maintained and auditable.
• Maintain effective working relationships with key customers and framework partners.
• Support professional, consistent customer communication and issue resolution.
• Work collaboratively with sales, commercial, finance, SHEQ and group support functions.

Our client is looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience in Operational Management, leading field based teams
• Knowledge of the Water or Gas industry
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead from the front
• A good knowledge of working within framework agreements 

This role will be office based with some travel included.
