We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics, materials handling, and warehouse management systems. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity within the team.

As a Shift Manager at Constellation Cold Logistics, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations and site facilities. You will play a key role in supporting and overseeing operational activities to ensure that service levels are consistently met in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner. Working with some of the most recognised brands at this location, a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and service excellence is essential. In this role, you will drive operational performance by fostering a culture of effective leadership and employee engagement, underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the site’s operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective deployment of all site resources and equipment.
  • Oversee staff absence, holiday planning, and associated records.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll administration including staffing levels, agency bookings, overtime approvals, and performance KPIs.
  • Maintain up-to-date files, including MHE licenses, and training records.
  • Ensure training is delivered across all areas: inductions, refreshers, Safe Systems of Work, and annual appraisals.
  • Ensure BRCGS Standard compliance across all relevant site functions.
  • Completes all necessary checks and actions pertaining to BRCGS, MSC, ASC, Organic accreditations & HMRC AEO and bonded warehouse and completes all relevant documentation.
  • Manage and oversee statutory inspections of equipment and racking.
  • Oversee temperature control and site monitoring requirements.
  • Administer accident and incident processes, ensuring documentation is completed as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in operational control and management within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with a focus on identifying and resolving issues effectively
  • Proficient in IT systems and comfortable working with numerical data
  • Capable of communicating confidently and clearly across all levels of an organisation
  • Results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and multitask in high-pressure, fast-paced settings
  • Skilled in strategic planning, supported by a solid understanding of data analysis and key operational metrics
