About the Role:

Help children feel understood, build confidence and succeed in their mainstream classrooms. Teach Now is recruiting an Outreach Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH outreach service supporting children aged 5–11 across the Stevenage area.

You will visit local primary schools, delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions that strengthen emotional regulation, social skills and engagement in learning. Alongside direct pupil support, you will model practical strategies for school staff, helping them respond confidently and consistently to childrens individual needs.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and families, you will contribute to tailored support plans and review what is making a difference. This varied role suits someone calm, resilient and organised who can build trust quickly and work independently, with guidance from an experienced specialist team.

Requirements:

• Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
  
• Experience delivering individual or small-group support.
  
• Confidence managing challenging situations with patience and positive behaviour strategies.
  
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  
• A full, clean driving licence and the ability to travel between schools.
  
• Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding checks.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted interventions to develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships.
  
• Support pupils individually, in small groups and during whole-class activities where appropriate.
  
• Model effective behaviour strategies and offer practical guidance to school staff.
  
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and families on individual support and behaviour plans.
  
• Maintain accurate records, share feedback and contribute to progress reviews.
  
• Organise visits and manage priorities across different school settings.
