Overhead Line Project Engineer for a major offshore wind farm in The UK


Responsibilities

  • Provide overhead line engineering support for 400kV, 275kV and 132kV projects across the full project life cycle, working as part of a multidiscipline project engineering team.
  • Review contractor/consultant design proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant design specification and guidance.
  • Take on a Project Engineering role, ensuring engineering governance is followed, co-ordination with all Engineering
  • Disciplines and support/assist others in the project team around managing engineering risks and utilising opportunities for the project to excel.
  • Act as the point of contact for overhead line engineering and represent engineering at key strategic, commercial, programme and site project meetings.
  • Promote and manage safety within the assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Quality risks are identified and mitigated.

    Requirements
  • Strong technical skills in overhead line development, design, and specification-or demonstrable transferable experience.
  • Familiarity with overhead line design software (e.g. PLS-CADD) is advantageous but not essential.
  • A technical degree or HND, with relevant experience in the field.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to explore design options and apply evidence-based decision-making.
