Talent Guardian is recruiting on behalf of a growing consolidator and distributor of fine food, drink and fresh produce, supplying the independent retail and foodservice sectors.
Everything they supply is consolidated and distributed from a purpose-built Distribution Centre in Redditch, ensuring it meets their strict quality standards. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a part-time Packhouse Operative to join the team.
 
The role
  • Packing and labelling fruit and vegetables by hand and using a flow-wrapper, to strict specification
  • Additional packhouse duties as required
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and product quality throughout
  • Completing and recording company documentation as required
 
What you'll need
  • You must live within a 20-mile radius of Redditch, Worcestershire
  • Over 18 with your own transport
  • Physical fitness to work at a fast pace, with manual handling and use of pallet trucks (manual & PPT)
  • High attention to detail
  • Computer literacy for stock management data maintenance
  • High standards of personal and food hygiene, and a 'clean as you go' approach
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Experience in a similar packhouse environment, with fresh produce experience, is desirable — not essential, as full training is provided
 
Hours & benefits
  • Part time — Tuesday and Thursday as base days, 8 hours per shift (16 hours per week)
  • Potential for additional days and overtime
  • Day shift within the Packhouse team, covering operating times of 06:30-16:30 (30-minute unpaid break)
  • £12.71 per hour, plus paid overtime (approved by line manager)
