Shift Patterns: Monday – Friday 8:30am to 16:30pm or 9:00am to 17:00pm (37.5 hrs/week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Dietitian to join our Paediatric Dietetics Team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, community-based paediatric nutrition and dietetic service. You will provide specialist dietetic assessment, advice, education and support to children, young people and their families, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to offer expert guidance to healthcare professionals. You will also manage and deliver paediatric outpatient clinics across a range of community settings, helping to ensure patients receive high-quality, person-centred nutritional care.

As a Paediatric Dietitian, you will be responsible for coordinating the nutritional care of children receiving home enteral feeding across community and special school settings. You will plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate educational programmes for patient groups, including virtual sessions, to promote effective dietary management. You will also triage and prioritise referrals in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate interventions while maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to the continuous delivery of a safe and effective service.

Responsibilities of this job role 

  • To coordinate the ordering, monitoring and timely provision of home enteral feeding products and associated equipment, ensuring continuity of care for patients receiving nutritional support.
  • To contribute to the implementation and review of nutrition-related policies, procedures and clinical standards, supporting the delivery of safe and effective dietetic services.
  • To develop, deliver and evaluate training programmes for nurses and other healthcare professionals, promoting evidence-based nutritional practice across the multidisciplinary workforce.
  • To prepare and deliver educational resources and presentations that enhance understanding of paediatric nutrition for healthcare staff and other relevant audiences.
  • To maintain professional competence by regularly reviewing current research, participating in continuing professional development activities, engaging with relevant professional organisations and attending approved study days.
  • To contribute to service development initiatives by identifying opportunities for quality improvement, supporting audit activities and helping to enhance the effectiveness of the paediatric dietetic service.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need: 

  • HCPC registered Dietitian with a BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in paediatric dietetics, including the management of children receiving home enteral feeding.
  • Strong knowledge of current paediatric dietetic practice, supported by ongoing CPD and evidence-based learning.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
