Hourly rate: £12.71 per hour + (DOE)
Our rapidly growing client based in Biggleswade are currently looking for a Paint Shop Support Operative to join their Workshop team on a Temporary to Permanent basis. This position has arisen due to plans to expand their site, so this could be a great opportunity for someone looking to join and exciting and thriving business.
Main duties as a Paint Shop Support Operative:
- Assist with the preparation of metal components prior to powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, degreasing, and masking of parts to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Support the powder coating process by hanging and removing products from production lines and ensuring items are correctly identified and routed.
- Carry out masking and protection of surfaces, threads, and critical areas in line with customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Inspect finished products for coating quality, damage, or defects, reporting any issues to the Paint Shop Supervisor.
- Pack completed products safely and securely for dispatch, ensuring correct labelling and adherence to customer packaging requirements.
- Assist with goods inwards and goods outwards activities, including unloading deliveries, checking stock, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate records.
What's needed as a Paint Shop Support Operative:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, powder coating, paint shop, or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of metal preparation processes, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and handling of components.
- Ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and health & safety procedures accurately.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
