SHIFT PATTERN

3 week rotating shift pattern (average 40 hours per week)

EXAMPLE

WK 1 Days: Wednesday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm

WK 2 Nights: Monday to Wednesday, 8:00pm to 8:00am

WK 3 Split Rotation: Monday and Tuesday, 8:00am to 8:00pm, Thursday and Friday,

8:00pm to 8:00am

** Two paid 15 minute breaks, one unpaid 30 minute break per shift.

THE ROLE

Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic paint equipment, preparing paint materials, carrying out quality checks and ensuring products are painted to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently while maintaining excellent safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIALS TO APPLY

  • A good understanding of paint preparation, paint mixing processes and paint application within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Previous experience working within a paint, manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and the ability to carry out accurate quality inspections.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH and the safe handling of paints and chemicals.
  • Good problem solving skills with the ability to identify, investigate and report process or equipment issues.
  • Ability to accurately complete production, process and quality documentation.
  • A proactive, reliable and self motivated approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience operating robotic spray paint equipment or automated paint systems.
  • Knowledge of TPM, SPC, 5S or lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience within an automotive or high volume manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain the robotic spray paint plant to ensure safe, efficient and consistent production.
  • Prepare, mix and monitor paint materials in line with manufacturer specifications and production requirements.
  • Set up, adjust and monitor robotic spray paint programmes and process parameters.
  • Complete production, quality and process documentation accurately.
  • Carry out quality checks and identify, investigate and report any paint or process defects.
  • Maintain paint and material stock levels, including batch control and stock rotation.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, start up, shutdown and planned maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and production performance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, 5S and safe working practices within the paint department.
  • Handle, store and use paints and chemicals safely in accordance with Health and Safety and COSHH procedures.
  • Support and assist colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping to maintain consistent working standards.
  • Report production issues, equipment faults and quality concerns promptly to minimise downtime.
