We are currently recruiting for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in social housing, reactive maintenance and property refurbishment to work across a variety of residential properties.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has excellent attention to detail and understands the importance of providing a professional service to tenants and residents.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality painting and decorating works across occupied and void residential properties.
You will be expected to deliver consistently high standards of workmanship while working safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will regularly interact with tenants, residents, clients and other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities-
Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting and decorating within residential and social housing properties.

Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding, stripping wallpaper and making good prior to decorating.

Apply paint, varnish, stains and other finishes to walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors and other surfaces.

Hang wallpaper and complete other decorative finishes where required.

Carry out reactive maintenance decorating following repairs completed by other trades.

Undertake minor making-good repairs, including basic plaster patching, caulking and surface preparation.

Complete finishing and snagging works to ensure properties meet company quality standards.

Identify defects and determine the most appropriate preparation, repair and decorating solutions.

Work effectively within occupied homes, maintaining a clean, tidy and respectful working environment.

Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.

Provide professional and courteous customer service to tenants, residents and clients.

Work collaboratively with other trades and operational teams where required.

Accurately complete job sheets, reports and work records.

NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating or demonstrable relevant industry experience.

Strong painting and decorating skills with excellent attention to detail.

Previous experience within social housing, property maintenance, repairs or refurbishment.

Experience working in both occupied and void properties.

Good knowledge of surface preparation, decorating materials and application techniques.

Ability to carry out minor making-good works, including basic plaster repairs and caulking.

Ability to work independently, manage workloads and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
-
Professional approach when working in customers' homes.

Full UK Driving Licence.

37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday:

Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:30pm
