Temporary Painter & Decorator

Location: Cambridge

Duration: Minimum 2 weeks (with the possibility of extension)

Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–4:00pm)

Pay: Competitive hourly rate (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join one of our clients on a temporary basis for a minimum of two weeks. This role involves carrying out high-quality painting and decorating work across a varied portfolio of modern and historic buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, cleaning and priming.
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating to a high standard.
• Apply a range of finishes including emulsions, gloss, varnishes and specialist coatings.
• Wallpapering and decorative finishes where required.
• Undertake decorating work on both modern and heritage properties, following conservation requirements where applicable.
• Work safely and maintain clean, tidy work areas at all times.
• Liaise with other trades and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator.
• Experience working on both modern and older buildings.
• Strong surface preparation and finishing skills.
• High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.
• Physically fit, as the role involves manual handling and working within older buildings.
