Duties of the Panel Beater:
  • Assess vehicle damage thoroughly, providing accurate repair estimates
  • Dismantle vehicles, including removing panels, bumpers, lights, and trims
  • Repair or replace damaged panels using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques
  • Straighten and align vehicle frames and chassis via hydraulic equipment and measuring systems
  • Perform welding and metalwork to restore vehicle integrity
  • Prepare surfaces for painting through sanding, filling, and priming, with some involvement in final paintwork
  • Reassemble vehicles, carry out quality inspections, and ensure safety standards are maintained
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
Requirements of the Panel Beater:
  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater within a busy bodyshop environment
  • Knowledge of various repair techniques, including welding, panel straightening, and surface finishing
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedication to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team
  • Own tools are preferred but not essential; the workshop is equipped with suitable facilities
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards relevant to vehicle repair
