CSS are currently recruiting for a Panel Wirer to join our well-established client on a Temp to Perm basis. Location – Braintree.
- Monday To Thursday 07.25am - 16.30pm
- Friday 07.30am - 13.10pm
- Pay £13.31ph
The LV Switch Panel Wireman is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of distribution boards, MCCB panel boards, and associated equipment in line with technical drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards, ensuring high quality, safety, and efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
- Build and test distribution and MCCB panels in accordance with BS EN 61439, ensuring compliance with BS 7671 requirements for installation.
- Read, understand and work from technical electrical CAD drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Select and verify the quantity and quality of all components before each job
- and assemble wiring loom kits using a variety of cable crimp hand tools.
- Electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks.
- Fault Finding - Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults.
- Maintain manufacturing records, including test certification, wiring diagrams, layout drawings and production sheets.
- Maintain and improve a safe working environment, ensuring team members are competent and comply with health and safety standards and legal requirements. (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999).
- To work using own initiative with limited supervision.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.
Experience and Qualifications Essential
- Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Knowledge of electrical regulations (18th Edition desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate.
- LV panel testing experience.
