Panel Wiring, Switchgear & Electrical Assembly
Location: Wigston, Leicester LE18
Rate: Up to £18 per hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with overtime available

Marmon Lift Recruitment is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business seeking an experienced Panel Wirer to join their electrical assembly team in Wigston, Leicester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and hands-on Panel Wirer with experience working on switchgear and electrical control panels.
The role will involve panel wiring, electrical assembly and working from electrical drawings and schematics to ensure panels are built accurately and to the required standards.
Occasional site work will also be required, so candidates with previous experience fitting, installing or commissioning electrical panels and switchgear on site would be highly desirable.
This role would suit someone with a strong electrical engineering background who is confident working independently, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

• Wire and assemble electrical control panels and switchgear
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams
• Carry out panel wiring in line with drawings and specifications
• Install electrical components, control gear and switchgear
• Complete electrical assembly and termination work
• Carry out quality checks and identify wiring or assembly issues
• Test and fault-find panels where required
• Ensure work is completed accurately and to a high standard
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Work independently while contributing effectively as part of the wider engineering team
• Attend customer sites when required for fitting, installation or associated electrical work

• Previous experience as a Panel Wirer / Panel Builder / Electrical Fitter - ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience working with switchgear - ESSENTIAL
• Experience wiring and assembling electrical control panels - ESSENTIAL
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics - ESSENTIAL
• Strong electrical assembly and wiring skills - ESSENTIAL
• Experience with electrical components, terminals and control gear - ESSENTIAL
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality - ESSENTIAL
• Strong practical problem-solving skills - ESSENTIAL
• Hands-on and proactive attitude with a strong team spirit - ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience with electrical fitting or installation work on site - DESIRABLE
• Experience installing or commissioning switchgear/control panels - DESIRABLE
• ECS Card - PREFERRED, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
• 18th Edition qualification - PREFERRED, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm
Overtime: Available
Occasional site work: Required as part of the role
Pay: Up to £18 per hour, depending on experience
