The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join a growing operation based in Hook, Hampshire. The successful candidate will work within an established engineering team, maintaining and repairing a large fleet of over 100 heavy machines.
The company currently has a strong team of fitters on its books and is looking to expand the team due to continued fleet growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plant fitter to join a busy operation, working on a wide range of heavy machinery, including equipment weighing up to 50 tonnes.
Candidates with strong practical experience in heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or similar mechanical engineering backgrounds would be well suited to this position.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery
- Working on 360 excavators, dumpers and diggers
- Carrying out maintenance and repairs to demolition equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance
- Carrying out reactive breakdown repairs
- Working on machinery weighing up to 50 tonnes
- Ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable and operational
- Maintaining and repairing a fleet of over 100 machines
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
- Relevant experience working as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or similar
- Strong practical experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery
- Experience working on construction plant, excavators, dumpers or similar equipment
- Good mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
- Hydraulic experience would be highly desirable
- NVQ qualification is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of an established team
- Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious approach
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
- Weekend overtime available at Time & a Half
