An established and highly regarded South West professional services firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing Financial Planning team in Taunton or Exeter..The successful candidate will work closely with Financial Planners, Client Executives and fellow Paraplanners, acting as a trusted technical specialist and playing a key role in the delivery of complex financial planning solutions. This position offers the opportunity to influence client outcomes, support colleagues' development and contribute to the continual improvement of technical standards and processes across the team.The salary is up to £50k per year depending on experience with many many company benefits.
The role is full time permanent and hybrid working scheme operated.
This role would suit an ambitious and technically strong Paraplanner seeking a senior position within a growing financial planning team. Your new role
- Take technical ownership of complex pensions, investment and protection cases.
- Produce high-quality suitability reports and technical recommendations.
- Conduct detailed research across products, funds and financial planning solutions.
- Utilise cashflow modelling and scenario planning to support long-term client decision-making.
- Act as a technical escalation point for Financial Planners, Client Executives and Paraplanners.
- Review technical work and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards.
- Support and mentor colleagues, helping develop technical knowledge and capability within the team.
- Collaborate with advisers to challenge assumptions and identify the most suitable client solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements and help embed regulatory and legislative changes into day-to-day practice.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant paraplanning experience within a financial planning environment.
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- Strong technical expertise across pensions, investments, protection and holistic financial planning.
- Experience supporting complex client cases and delivering technical recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, research and report-writing skills.
- A sound understanding of FCA regulations and client outcome requirements.
- Experience using financial planning systems, cashflow modelling software and CRM platforms.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
- A proactive and highly organised approach, with a commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
Progress towards Chartered status would be viewed favourably.
