Park Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled candidate Park Keeper to join our client based in Chingford. This role is essential in ensuring that outdoor spaces are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and functional.

Holding a valid driving licence is must.

Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for the maintenance of local parks, the main duties are opening and closing of the park entrances, you will help to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the borough’s green spaces through a programme of litter / waste picking, weeding, emptying bins, and any ad hoc assignments as requested. Vehicle provided to move tools, waste, and travel to sites.

Weekly cleaning of the pavilion, mopping floors in sports facilities, cleaning changing rooms and ensuring the cleanliness of restrooms and other common areas and any ad hoc assignments as requested.  Your operational route is followed via an app.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred

Knowledge to operate and maintain various equipment used for indoor and outdoor maintenance

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

Physical stamina to perform manual labour

Reliable and committed

A pleasant manner when dealing with members of the public

A clean UK driving licence is essential for this role, over age 25 for insurance purposes

Assessment and induction:

Before starting, successful candidates will be required to complete a driving assessment and induction. This ensures you are fully prepared for the responsibilities of the role and familiar with the client’s operational procedures.

Salary:

Starting at £14.24, increasing after 13 weeks to £16.25

Overtime rates apply after 13 weeks.

Pay rate includes rolled-up holiday pay, meaning holiday is paid weekly as earned and no extra pay is given during leave.

Shifts available are 6am – 2.30pm and afternoon shift is 3.00pm – 11.30pm

Sites operate 7 days a week so you will work 5 days out of 7, a rota is in place to cover weekend days
